Doris (Biggs) Gailey
Alumni of the Year Award

Doris (Biggs, 57) Gailey began her first term of service in Africa in 1964. After receiving her bachelor’s in mathematics with a minor in secondary education, she taught math at Norwell, MA High School for three years while also completing her M.Ed. at Northeastern University, which she received in 1960. While in Swaziland, Doris taught math at a Nazarene High School, studied the Zulu language, and taught Zulu to new missionary arrivals. After further teaching in Swaziland and adjunct furlough teaching at ENC, Doris and husband Chuck (58), who received the 1987 ENC Alumnus of the Year Award, moved to Kansas City in 1981 to train global missionaries. Their four children have also graduated from ENC.
