Emerging Leader Award

Angie Carr came to ENC from the Mid-Atlantic District, graduating summa cum laude with a BA in Music Education and Voice Performance in 2003. She went on to obtain a Master of Music degree in Voice Performance from the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA in 2005. She then spent two years teaching, performing, and ministering in music at Boston’s Fort Square Presbyterian Church.

Angie traveled to the island of Okinawa in 2007, after sensing a call from God to lead worship at the Keystone Church of the Nazarene. Following her time in Japan, she moved to Nashville and worked at Trevecca Nazarene University for four years. While there, Angie sang in various churches, performed with the Nashville Symphony Chorus and The Nashville Choir, and sang in back-up choirs for concerts and recordings by artists such as Michael W. Smith, Jeremy Camp, Larnelle Harris, Sandi Patty and the Gaithers. She also sang in Nazarene churches and schools in Kenya and Rwanda, where she traveled for missions in 2011.

Angie is currently studying at Ball State University in Muncie, IN, working on a Doctor of Arts degree in Voice Performance with a secondary emphasis in Speech-Language Pathology. After graduation she hopes to minister in music, teach at the college level and help singers with voice disorders. She considers it a privilege to be able to praise God in song and desires to give her music to Him and others, in the United States or abroad.
