Statement of Faith
I Believe
- That
God
- Loves
me
- Is
the creator of all that is and ever will be
- Is
all knowing, all powerful, and all present
- Is
triune in being, revealed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit
- Created
me in his image to love, honor, worship and serve him
- Desires
a personal, intimate, and daily relationship with me
- Has
a plan for my life
- Sent
his only son Jesus Christ to pay the price for my selfish
choice to sin and defy God
- That
Jesus
- Loves
me
- Was
with God in the beginning
- Came
to earth as fully human yet still fully God, born of the
virgin Mary
- Demonstrated
His love for me in that while I was yet a sinner he died for
me
- Is
the full atonement for sin and is the only way of salvation
for the world
- Triumphed
over sin, Satan and death and rose from the dead and took
again his body
- Ascended
into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father
interceding on my behalf
- Sent
his spirit to comfort and guide me
- That
the Holy Spirit
- Fills
me with His presence and is ever present with me
- Convinces
me that I am a sinner
- Regenerates
me as I repent of my sins to the Father
- Sanctifies
me unto the Father, cleansing my heart from sin
- Comforts
and strengthens me as I daily grow in grace and into a deeper
understanding of God the Father and His son my Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ
- That
the Holy Scripture
- Is
the inspired inerrant word of God
- Provides
a plan for my life
- Is
a contract between myself and God the Father
- Need
not be added to or detracted from
- That
Sin
- Came
into the world through the act of disobedience by our first
parents Adam and Eve
- Has
as its penalty death.
- Is
an inherited propensity in all offspring of Adam
- Acted
out is a personal choice to defy the Father and reject or
neglect His remedy.
- Is
a voluntary violation of a known law of God
- That
I
- Am
a sinner saved by grace
- Am
sanctified by the infilling of the Holy Spirit
- Need
to strive
to discover and follow God’s will for my life
- Need
to seek to take up my cross daily and follow Christ
