This is a picture of Albert Einstein taken around 1905 while he was a clerk in the Patent Office in Bern. It was in 1905 that Einstein wrote three papers that shook the physics community. One was "On the Electro-dynamics of Moving Bodies" and was the origin of the theory of relativity. We will study Special Relativity this semester.
