For over 75 years, the Eastern Nazarene College Choral Union has performed two major masterworks of the choral literature each concert season. In the fall, the Choral Union always prepares Handel’s MESSIAH for a free concert offered as a holiday gift to the city of Quincy. In the spring, the Choral Union performs a different piece each year. Past repertoire has included the REQUIEMS of Brahms, Mozart, and Faure; Mendelssohn’s ELIJAH, and choral masterworks by Bach, Haydn, Beethoven, others. In 2008, the ENC Choral Union collaborated by with Boston’s celebrated Aardvark Jazz Orchestra in a concert of sacred music by Duke Ellington.

Message from the Music Director

For over ten years I have worked with choirs at virtually all levels: from professional to pre-school. That experience has taught me that -  without a doubt - EVERYONE can sing. I have also learned that any group of committed individuals - regardless of their level of musical experience - can present a beautiful and compelling performance of just about any piece of choral music.

Membership in the ENC Choral Union is free and is open to everyone. There are no auditions, and you do not have to have any experience singing. You don’t even have to be able to read music.

Visit this site in August 2010 for information about the date of our first rehearsal for the Fall 2010 semester.
