Mr. Neil J. Nicoll has been President Emeritus of YMCA-USA since January 1, 2015. Mr. Nicoll served as the President and CEO of YMCA-USA from June 2006 to December 31, 2014. He held YMCA leadership posts for more than 46 years, beginning in 1968 as a program director at the Howard County branch of the YMCA of Greater Baltimore. He served as Executive Director of the Prince Georges County branch of the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington, D.C., for six years and Executive Director of the Dorchester branch of the YMCA of Greater Boston for three years. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the YMCA of Greater Worcester, Mass., from 1980 to 1992. He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of YMCA of Greater Seattle for 14 years. He held leadership roles with the YMCA of Greater Seattle since 1992. He served two terms on YMCA-USA's National Board, from 1988 to 1992 and also since 2004, and chaired the YMCA North American Urban Group of major metropolitan YMCAs from 2003 to 2005 and the YMCA Public Policy Committee of Washington State from 1994 to 2004. As Chair of the YMCA Activate America Steering Committee, he has provided leadership to the YMCA movement's innovative public health initiative. He has chaired the Washington State Council of Youth Agencies since 1993, and served on the United Way of King County Strategic Planning Committee from 1995 to 1998. He served on the City of Seattle Mayor's Advisory Committee for the Family & Education Levy, from 2003 to 2004. Mr. Nicoll holds a Bachelor's degree in History from Eastern Nazarene College, Quincy, Mass. where he was also the ENC varsity soccer coach (72-75), and a Master's in Education from Springfield College, Springfield, Mass.
