Richard A. Fish • Professor • Psychology

Prof. FishDr. Fish has been teaching at ENC since 1971. Previously, he taught at Purdue University and at the University of Alabama. Dr. Fish is a licensed psychologist in Massachusetts and has over 20 years of experience in counseling, which has included both individual and family counseling. In addition to classroom responsibilities, he also arranges travel and budget concerns for foreign choir tours at ENC. Most recently, he coordinated an 18-day cruise in Central America. Dr. Fish has published several articles and has contributed chapters to books on the topic of the relationship between psychology and finance. He lives with his wife in Hingham, Mass.

Janet G. Lanham • Professor • Psychology • Social Science

Prof. LanhamDr. Lanham has been teaching at ENC since 1982 and served as dean of students from 1990 to 1998. She is a licensed mental health counselor in Massachusetts, has set up therapy groups in the Quincy area for female adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, and maintains a small therapy practice in Quincy. She teaches in the many areas of psychology, and is a specialist in student development, counseling in women’s issues, and sexual abuse issues. She co-authored the book Choices: In Pursuit of Wholeness. Dr. Lanham also teaches the "Field Experience" class at ENC for junior and senior psychology majors. Dr. Lanham has placed students in positions in the neuropsychiatric unit at Quincy Hospital, residential programs, and many others. She has been advisor to several graduating classes at ENC, most recently the class of 2002. She lives in Quincy with her husband and sons.

Nancy Ross • Associate Professor • Dean for Academic Affairs Psychology and Sociology

Prof. RossNancy Ross serves as the chair of the division of general education. She is responsible for forming the division and managing the process of curriculum reform in this area. In addition, Ross works with the academic dean on the institutional report that is made to the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Her expertise is in experimental cognitive psychology, which includes topics such as attention, memory, and decision-making. Since coming to ENC in January of 1997, she has primarily taught research/statistics courses. Dr. Ross is the advisor to the ENC chapter of Psi Chi National Honor Society. She also finds time to sing on the worship team at Bethel Church of the Nazarene in Quincy. She lives in Quincy.

Brian Massey • Assistant Professor • Psychology

Prof. MasseyDr. Massey began teaching in fall 2004. He teaches "Introduction to Psychology," a core class, and others such as the "Senior Psychology Seminar." Prior to coming to ENC, he was coordinating a research and treatment program for psychological trauma as well as teaching at North Shore University Hospital in New York. He was involved in helping EMS personnel regarding trauma related to emergency services. He has completed a journal article and has given presentations specifically about the impact of Sept. 11 on emergency responders. Dr. Massey is co-authoring a mental health consultation manual for emergency personnel and has coordinated a trauma-focused counseling and outreach program following Sept. 11. He lives in Quincy with his wife and twin daughters.
