Studying English in the Boston Area
ENC is situated just outside of Boston in residential Quincy. For English majors, this means studying in an area rich with historical literary sites such as Concord, Walden Pond, and Salem. In addition, English majors are encouraged to attend the many theatrical performances available through numerous theatrical companies including the Boston Shakespeare Company and the Loeb Drama Center at Harvard University. The city also provides unparalleled recreational and cultural opportunities, including important museums, professional athletic teams, and a wealth of musical and artistic events.
- The Literary Trail of Greater Boston
The guided or self-guided tour takes its participants to historical sights including the Omni Parker House, Old Corner Bookstore, Boston Public Library, Harvard University, Longfellow House, Concord Museum, Walden Pond, and Harvard Square.
