Year of Graduation: 2012
I am currently studying organic chemistry at the University of New Hampshire and working towards my Ph.D. This is my second year here and I am keeping busy with research, teaching undergraduate organic chemistry labs, and taking classes.
I work for Art Greenberg and we are looking at the metabolic mechanism of benzene and other aromatic hydrocarbons. These are widespread pollutants in our environment and their metabolites are carcinogenic. We are trying to understand how the toxic metabolites form and potentially how they can be prevented from forming.
