2006 Headlines

November 4, 2006.  Boston, MA.  Picking up where she left off.

Eastern Nazarene's Amber Crow finishes off career with Honors.

Senior Amber Crow was voted on to the Commonwealth Coast Conference 1st Team by the coaches in the CCC this week.  Amber finishes off her final season as a Crusader having been apart of the CCC All Conference Teams for three consecutive years and in 2004 earning Player of the Year honors.

Her confident and quiet spirit led the Crusaders to a quarterfinal appearance in the 2006 CCC Playoffs before finishing her last game as a Crusader.

Congratulations to Amber for her efforts and this honor!

October 31, 2006.   Lady Crusaders bumped, set and served out of playoffs on Halloween.

October 28, 2006.  Lady Crusaders bounce back, winning 2 at Bridgewater St. Halloween Tournament, next stop...CCC Playoffs.

October 5, 2006.  Quincy, MA.  Eastern Nazarene focused and energized for 3-0 win over Mount Ida.

Four points was the greatest lead that the Crusaders held in game three through the 25th point until they seemed to crack the Mustangs and push the lead to seven to finish the game and match out at 30-23 for their 7th consecutive game victory and 3rd match in a row.

Having beaten the North Atlantic Conference second place team on Tuesday, Lasell, the Crusaders happened to have the NAC leading Mustangs tonight.  Playing aggressively and confident the Crusaders took the initiative and worked well together on the court.

The Crusaders captains Amber Crow and Christina Ludwick led the team with a full cast of support from Lyndsey Still, Janna Fernandes and Rebekah Sorensen to name a few.  At several points in the match, each player made important points and plays as opportunity knocked.

Eastern Nazarene travels to Clark University Saturday, October 7th, for a tri-match between ENC, Clark and Rhode Island College.

Go Crusaders!

October 3, 2006.    Lady Crusaders find their way, hold off Lasers late game runs, win 3-0.

September 30, 2006.  Lady Crusaders knock of Roger Williams in 5 game match.

September 8 and 9, 2006.  Providence, RI-Crusaders stuck in a net, drop games at the Johnson and Wales University Tournament.

The Crusaders traveled to the JWU early season tournament as always, but came home empty handed of any victories as they normally do.  Still early in the season the Lady Crusaders are trying to bump and grind their way into form, but it has not clicked yet.

Though dropping four games to Otterbein, JWU, Babson and Suffolk, some Crusaders showed well in the stats this weekend.  Captain Amber Crow finished the tournament with 43 kills, averaging just under 11 kills a game, and earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

Also noted are the efforts of Rebekah Sorensen, Allison Aupperlee and Christina Ludwick who recorded 23, 29 and 35 set-assists in matches two, three and four respectively for the Crusaders.

The Crusaders reach for their first victory of the season as they travel to Salem State College on Tuesday, Sept. 12th for a 7 pm match up against the Vikings.  Go Crusaders!

September 5, 2006.  NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-Crusaders can not rise high enough, fall 0-3 to Corsairs.

The Eastern Nazarene volleyball team made their 2006 season debut a unsuccessful one Tuesday evening.  The Crusaders lost in three games, 30-18, 30-24 and 30-24, in the first match of the season.

Coach Johnston comments that, "We have not found our rhythm yet moving from attack to defense and back.  It will be a matter of having productive minutes during practice that will help us find that flow."

The Crusaders head to action at the Johnson & Wales Tournament this weekend and perhaps will meet up with the Corsairs there.

September, 2006.  Season Preview Crusaders Setting Up with 8 returners!

This season with 8 returning players the crusaders look to improve upon their
15-16 record from last year.  Two time CCC All-Conference player Senior Amber Crow (Spokane Valley, WA) will lead the team with her experience.

The Crusaders have several talented new players who will be coming in and incorporated right away into the team.  The progression of the new players will play a significant part of how this team comes together.

How quickly this happens will determine how the Crusaders fair against their opponents as Coach Johnston expects them to battle for every point and hopefully surpass last seasons .500 record and quarterfinal exit in the CCC Playoffs.
