Information

JR, Colby DaSilva-

Men's Basketball

Colby displayed a serious commitment to return after he ruptured his Achilles Tendon in the 2006-2007 season.  He played in only 5 games in 2006-2007, but returned to action in 2007-2008 having played in 23 games where he averaged 4.3 points a game and was 5th on the team in three point shots made.

SR, Luc Jasmin III-

Men's Basketball

In the summer of 2007, Luc suffered a stress fracture in his lower leg which morphed into a fracture by the time school started in September.  Fitted with a walking boot and crutches for most of that semester, Luc entered rehab vigorously but sat out the Crusaders first nine games.  He returned to the team in January and after only three practices resumed his playing career by scoring 11 points in 18 minutes off the bench at Connecticut College.

Luc played in all 16 games the second semester, averaging 13.4 pts/game and 6.5 rebs/game, second on the team in both categories.  On February 16 against Nichols, Luc reached the 1,000 pt. plateau and finished his career with 1,031 pts., placing 23rd on ENC's career scoring list.

SR, Nate Magnuson-

Men's Soccer

In the summer of 2006, Nate tore his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) through summer training for soccer.  Nate sat out the entire 2006 season which he had so diligently trained for.  His diagnosis, surgery and rehabilitation lasted through 12 months before he could play again.

Nate's dedication to returning and overcoming the painstaking rehabilitation was as dedicated as any athlete's could have been.  He regularly attended physical therapy and followed his rehab program on his own.  Overcoming discouragement was a frequent obstacle to overcome.

Nate returned in the preseason of 2007 being in perhaps the best physical shape of his life.  He threw himself into the season with everything and often led the team as the most intense competitor in training and games, perhaps because of the injury.

SO, Juan Rivera-Baseball

Juan suffered from Tommy John elbow and after surgery and nine months of rehabilitation returned to pitch very effectively for the Crusaders down the final stretch of the 2008 season as he came in for three strong innings of relief vs. Gordon allowing no hits, striking out 4, walking 1 and in turn picking that runner off of first base.
