Fourth annual art exhibition hosted by Eastern Nazarene College

RSS FeedQUINCY, MA April 11, 2008 –- The fourth annual art show at Eastern Nazarene College will be open to the public through April 23. It features a traveling exhibition of Seeing the Savior: Images from the Life of Christ sponsored by the group Christians in the Visual Arts (CIVA).

From the annunciation to his second coming, 13 artists from a variety of artistic and ethnic backgrounds masterfully portray 35 insightful and colorful interpretations of the birth, ministry, passion, ascension, and return of the Lord. Among the works selected in this show by curator, Sandra Bowden, are:  Laura James, a New York artist of Antiguan heritage; Viera Hlonikova, from Slovakia; Rudolph Bostic, an African American Outsider Artist from Savannah, GA; Sadao Watanabe from Japan; Anne Brink, a Minnesota fabric artist; Jim Janknegt, from Texas; and several well-known CIVA artists such as Edward Knippers, Bruce Herman, Tanja Butler, Nancy Goes, Wayne Forte, John August Swanson, and Joan Bohlig.

The two-week show celebrates the unique talent of ENC students and faculty. The display of artwork will range from paintings and photography to sculpture.
