Summer Internship: Michael Bechard
Published: 2012-10-24

Michael is a Junior from Queensbury, NY and is double majoring in Math and Electrical Engineering. He shared the following about his summer internship.

"Over the summer, I worked on part of the Robobees Project. The purpose of this project is to create a swarm of flying robotic 'bees' that could pollinate crops, monitor traffic, search out hazardous areas, and perform other tasks that would be well suited to robots of this size. Because of power constraints, only very low power radios can be used on these devices. My job over the summer was to document how mobility affects these radios, specifically, by looking at signal strength and reception rates at various speeds."
