Coordinator of Institutional Research

SUMMARY:

The Coordinator of Institutional Research reports to the Provost and is responsible for monitoring institutional effectiveness through the systemic analysis of data in support of decision-making, preparation of standard reports, as well as the design and implementation of an ongoing data reporting system. The Coordinator of Institutional Research provides relevant, timely and accurate information to the administration and faculty in support of program review and assessment, strategic planning, budgeting and decision-making processes at the College.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Oversee the process for the accurate and timely submission of all reporting to Federal, State, and outside agencies (IPEDS, NCAA, FISAP, Clearinghouse, US-NEWS, Peterson’s etc)
  2. Coordinate the collection and maintenance of an integrated institutional common data set; 
including enrollment, financial, and demographic historic trend data
  3. Develop and maintain systematic reporting for academic program review and assessment
  4. Develops systematic reporting capabilities, documentation, surveys, and web-based presentation related to institutional effectiveness and the college-wide assessment plan
  5. Serve as a resource to faculty and staff as they develop and continuously improve their assessment plans
  6. Fulfill both ongoing and ad hoc information requests from senior administrators in order to support management decision-making at the college
  7. Interpret and present the results of institution-level outcomes assessments such as the National Survey of Student Engagement, CCCU College Assessment Program, and the Noel-Levitz Student Satisfaction Inventory
  8. Works cooperatively with ENC’s Information Technology Department and Web Committee to improve data analysis resources and campus access
  9. Serve on college committees as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Master’s Degree preferred, minimum of Bachelor’s degree in pertinent discipline or equivalent experience, 2-4 years applicable planning, assessment, or institutional research experience in higher education or a higher education-affiliated field
  2. Knowledge of Higher Education ERP systems preferred; experience with Ellucian (Datatel) preferred
  3. Knowledge of college policies and procedures related to assigned work; knowledge of federal, state, and accreditor reporting requirements
  4. Ability to safeguard sensitive and confidential student and College information;
  5. Analytical ability including finding, interpreting and presenting trends or patterns in data in different formats to various audiences; skill in analyzing complex problems, identifying solutions and demonstrating critical thinking
  6. Knowledge of statistics, software applications and technology, quantitative and qualitative research methods and reporting, sufficient to excel in the position
  7. Experience in using complex database management systems, spreadsheets, word processing and statistical software; Experience with Business Objects
  8. Proficiency in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other staff, faculty, students and the public
  9. The ability to design and execute complex research projects, manage multiple projects, adhere to deadlines, and prioritize tasks; 12. Must have well-developed listening, presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  10. Commitment to a Christian faith community and integrates the Mission and Vision Statement, and the Defining Values of Eastern Nazarene College in every aspect of work performance
