Voicemail  
 How do I set up my voice mail box?

  1. Lift the handset.
  2. Press the “Voice Mail” key, “Message” key, or dial 7900.
  3. Voice mail will say “Welcome Extension xxxx…  Please enter your Passcode”.  Enter the default Passcode 1111.
  4. Voice Mail will provide an audio tutorial for you to:
    1. Select your Passcode (you cannot use 9999, 1111 or your extension),
    2. Record your name,
    3. Record your personal greeting

 How do I access voice mail from my own phone?

  1. Lift the Handset.
  2. Press the “Voice Mail” Key, “Message” key, or dial 7900.
  3. When the Voicemail answers, enter your passcode.

How do I access voice mail from another phone?

  1. Lift the Handset.
  2. Press the “Voice Mail” Key, “Message” key, or dial 7900.
  3. When Voice Mail answers, press “*”.
  4. Voice Mail will say  “…enter your Mailbox Number”.   Enter your Mailbox Number at this point (it will be your phone extension).

 How do I access voice mail from outside Eastern Nazarene College?

  1. Dial 617-769-2900.
  2. When you hear “Thank you for calling ENC…”, press the “*” key.
  3. Voice Mail will say  “…enter your Mailbox Number”. Enter your Mailbox Number at this point (it will be your phone extension).
  4. Voice Mail will say "Please enter your Passcode." Enter your passcode here.

How do I use voice mail system with single letter prompts?

To play messages, press:

Ø       “P” (or 7) to play your message

While or after listening to a message, press:

Ø       “K” (or 5) to keep (save) your message

Ø       “A” (or 2) to answer (reply to) your message

Ø       “G” (or 4) to give the message to someone else (forward) – follow the prompts

Ø       “D” (or 3) to discard (delete) your message

 

To create a new message, press:

1.        Press “M” (or 6).

2.        Enter

a.        A destination mailbox number or

b.       For a directory list, press “W” (or 9).   Follow the voice prompts to select a mailbox number.

Continue creating the list of destinations by entering mailbox numbers or accessing the directory.  Note:  If you enter an incorrect mailbox number, press the star (*) key on your phone.

3.        Press the pound (#) key to end the destination list.

4.        Record your message.

5.        You can now press:

Ø       “R” (or 7) to review (listen to) your message

Ø       “D” (or 3) to delete your message and re-record

Ø       “A” (or 2) to append to the end of your message

Ø       “M” (or 6) for message addressing options.  Press:

§         “U” (or 8) to mark your message urgent and make it first in the destination mailbox

§         “C” (or 2) to mark your message as confidential (which mean this message cannot be sent or forwarded to anyone else)

§         “R” (or 7) to request notification that your message has been heard

§         “X” (or 9) to exit the message addressing option

Ø       “U” (or 8) to mark your message urgent and make it first in the destination mailbox

Ø       “Oper” (or 0) to deliver your message and return to the operator.

6.        Press “X” (or 9) to send a message and returning to the voice mail system.

 

To use other main menu options, press:

Ø       “Oper” (or zero) to transfer to the operator

Ø       “#” to transfer to ENC’s main menu

Ø       “*” to cancel or leave the system

Ø       “U” (or 8) to transfer to the User Options menu

§         “G” (or 4) to record our permanent greeting

§         “N” (or 6) to record your name

§         “P” (or 7) to change your Passcode

§         “T” (or 8) to record a temporary greeting – see Temporary Greeting

§         “F” (or 3) or record a message for yourself

§         “X” (or 9) to exit the User Options menu

Ø       “X” (or 9) to exit the voice mail system

 
 How do I create a temporary greeting?

  1. Dial 7900 to enter the voice mail system.  Enter your Passcode.
  2. Press “U” (or 8) for User Options.
  3. Press “T” (or 8) for Temporary Greeting.
  4. Follow the prompts.

 How do I cancel a temporary greeting?

  1. Dial 7900 to enter the voice mail system.  Enter your Passcode.
  2. Press “U” (or 8) for User Options.
  3. Press “T” (or 8) for Temporary Greeting.
  4. Follow the prompts and set the number of days to zero.  This disables the temporary greeting.

 How do I skip someone's temporary greeting?

You can skip a greeting by pressing “#” as soon as the greeting begins.  You can also skip the voice mail message “Begin speaking after the tone….” by pressing “#”.
