Alan R. Rhoda
is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the
University of
Nevada, Las Vegas. He received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Fordham University
in 2004. Alan specializes in epistemology and philosophy of science (esp.
the problem of induction), metaphysics (esp. the philosophy of time), and
philosophy of religion. He has a forthcoming paper in Faith and Philosophy
entitled “Open Theism, Omniscience, and the Nature of the Future” (coauthored
with Gregory Boyd and Thomas Belt). Several other papers (on the metaphysics
of presentism, inductive skepticism, and Arthur Prior’s tense logic) are
pending publication.
Both natives of Las Vegas,
Nevada, Alan and his wife Heather attend Cornerstone Christian Fellowship
(Foursquare) and enjoy hiking, swing dancing, blogging, and discussing
theology and philosophy.
