Alan Padgett
Alan Padgett is a Methodist theologian and pastor, with a life-long interest in natural science.  He is now Professor of Systematic Theology at Luther Seminary in Minnesota, where he teaches courses in theology and science, along with standard classes in theology and ethics.  He is a graduate of Southern California College (now Vanguard University), Drew University, and Oxford University.  The author or editor of seven books and over seventy academic journal articles, he is well known for his contributions to philosophy of religion, philosophy of science and systematic theology.  He has lectured on three continents at major universities (China, Europe, and North America), and was part of the three-year Oxford Templeton Seminars on Science and Christianity.  He is a member of the International Society for Science and Religion, a former president of the Christian Theological Research Fellowship, and is active in several other scholarly associations.  He is currently editor of the Journal for Christian Theological Research, and has contributed articles on science and theology to the Encyclopedia of Philosophy (2nd ed.) and the Encyclopedia of Christianity.  His recent works include But is it all True? The Bible and the Question of Truth (edited with Patrick Keifert; Eerdmans, 2006) and Science and the Study of God (Eerdmans, 2003), while his bestselling book is one he wrote with three other philosophers: God and Time: Four Views (ed. G. Ganssel, InterVarsity Press, 2001).
