Michael Lodahl
has been Professor of Theology at Point Loma Nazarene University in San
Diego, CA
since 1999. An ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene, Lodahl
has served as pastor (or interim pastor) of four Nazarene congregations
and one nondenominational congregation.
After receiving his Ph.D
in Theological Studies from Emory University in 1988, Lodahl began his
teaching career at Northwest Nazarene College (now University) in Nampa,
Idaho, where he was named Professor of the Year in 1997. He is the author
or co-author of six books, including The Story of God: Wesleyan Theology
and Biblical Narrative, and God of Nature and of Grace: Reading
the World in a Wesleyan Way, and twenty articles. He is currently writing
a book on the re-telling of biblical narratives and characters in the Qur’an,
and the implicit theological significance of these reconfigurations.
