Welcome to the Vernal Pool Information Center!

PLEASE NOTE: This web site is a work in progress.  Please forgive our appearance as we continue to construct this web site.

This web site has been created by the faculty and students of the Eastern Nazarene College Biology Department to educate the public about vernal pools, the wildlife that utilize them, and the methods for their conservation and protection.

Clicking on the links at the right will inform you about the vernal pool projects we are working on and the faculty and students working on them, as well as the procedures we follow and the partners we work with.  You can also find general information about vernal pools, the plants found in the forests around them, the animals that live and breed in vernal pools, and the conservation measures that governments, organizations, developers, and the public can take to protect vernal pools.  Finally, there are some links to other organizations working with vernal pools.

If you have questions, please feel free to call Professor Jonathan Twining at 617-745-3552, or email him at Jonathan.E.Twining@enc.edu.  Let us know if this web site is helpful to you or your organization.
