Kenneth L. Mills, Sr. (66) has been serving as the Nazarene District Superintendent for the Mid-Atlantic District since 1997 which followed his five years as the New England District Superintendent. Those leadership roles followed many years of local church ministry in the Church of the Nazarene: as a Senior Pastor in Nashua, NH (Community Chapel, 1991 – 1992), Danvers, MA (1974 – 1991), and Newton Falls, OH (1969-1971); as Minister to College and Youth in Nashville, Tennessee First Church (1973-1974); and as Minister to Youth and Music at Canton, OH First Church (1971-1973). He has been serving as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for ENC since 2006. Ken married his wife, Patti (Jacobs, 66), in 1965 before graduating from ENC with a BA in psychology and a minor in Biblical literature. He continued his education, receiving the Master of Divinity degree with a concentration in theology from Nazarene Theological Seminary in 1969 and the Doctor of Ministry degree with a concentration in Preaching and Worship from Boston University in 1979. The Mills have three adult children: Kenneth, Jr., Kristen and Kerri.
His contributions to the Nazarene denomination are many as he continues to also serve as a Trustee for Nazarene Theological Seminary, Kansas City, MO, on the Denominational Course of Study Advisory Committee, RCOSAC, and as Secretary for the Commission on the Future of the Church of the Nazarene. Previous service has included: Housing Partnership Member for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; Chairman, Board of Ministerial Studies in New England; Field Education Supervisor for Gordon Conwell Seminary; Chairman of the Board, Director, and Adjunct Professor for NE Nazarene Bible College; Chairman of the Board for Williamson Bible Institute; District Secretary for NE District; Denominational Chairperson for Christian Action Committee; General Board Member, Church of the Nazarene; ENC Area Facilitator for US/Canada Region of Superintendents; District Director of "Impact Youth Teams"; Akron District NYI President; NE District Director of Junior High Camps; and a Retreat and Conference Speaker. He also served the Peabody, MA community as President of the Ministerial Clergy Group and as President of the Rotary Club.
