Professional Development Institute

The Professional Development Institute (PDI) is designed to help meet the needs of educators and professionals in other fields for in-service education both for professional development and to meet recertification and licensing requirements. The college has been appointed by the Massachusetts Department of Education as a Professional Development Provider.

PDI programs may be customized to assist both individuals and school districts or organizations to complete professional development plans, consistent with state requirements. ENC will work out an agreement with a school district, agency or group, detailing program offerings, registration, sites (ENC campus, in a school building, or other feasible location), fees, and method of payment.

Master's in Education Off-campus Cohort Programs

PDI collaborates with the Division of Teacher Education to offer master's degrees in education at elementary and secondary levels. The M.Ed. programs may be customized and are offered in cohort format on-site in school districts and community colleges. The on-site M.Ed. cohort tuition is $575 per three credit hour course. There is a one time enrollment fee of $25 for the M.Ed. program. Each M.Ed. cohort program is comprised of 12 courses of three graduate credits each. Cohort M.Ed. course are taught by qualified Professors.

The M.Ed. in Elementary Education may be designed to meet Massachusetts licensure requirements, or not, as customized with specified specializations to meet requests of the client school district(s). The M.Ed. in Secondary Education is not designed to meet Massachusetts licensure requirements. Students will have online and physical access to the ENC Nease Library.
