Biographical Notes

  • Nancy Ross serves as the chair of the department of Psychology and Criminal Justice. Her expertise is in experimental cognitive psychology, which includes topics such as attention, memory, and decision-making. Her dissertation on the attentional blink phenomenon demonstrated that color information is just as susceptible to attentional limitations as symbolic/text information. Since coming to ENC in January of 1997, she has primarily taught research/statistics courses, and is always looking for ways to get students involved in the research experience. She also finds time to sing on the worship team at Bethel Church of the Nazarene in Quincy. She lives in Quincy with her two dogs, Honey and Maggie.
