GO452 Seminar in Law and Society

Upper division seminar designed to introduce students to the public policy concerns and philosophical concepts which shape the law as it operates in American society. Students will acquire the basic tools with which to analyze contemporary legal events in their proper historical and cultural contexts. This course pays particular attention to the role of judicial review in the legal process and to the unique relationship between public morality and the American legal system. Prerequisites: GO210 and permission of the instructor.
